Redken REVIEW!

Everyone knows how split ends can ruin a hairstyle, if you want to grow it or just have healthy looking hair we all know we need to have regular hair cuts but what about between them cuts? People forget that in order to have healthy hair we still need to treat it between appointments.
After all you wouldn't open the oven and put your hand into it without protection on you hands do why not protect your hair?

I have been fortunate enough to be sent via a supplier
REDKEN,
Extreme Anti-Snap to review.

I was very excited when I received this to review because i used to work in a REDKEN stock salon and know how lovely their products are,

Anti-Snap is a leave in treatment for distressed hair. To help reduce breakage and leave hair looking healthy, manageable and shiny.
For best results with the product REDKEN suggest you pair it with extreme shampoo and conditioner, I unfortunately don't have either so iv paired it with my current shampoo and conditioner.

To use, shampoo and condition the hair as you normally would and apply to towel dried  hair on the fragile or damaged areas and blowdry as you normally would.

Most people's damaged areas are their mid lengths and ends so avoid putting this onto your roots, like any product it will make your hair go limp and greasy.

I have been using this product for about 2 weeks now and already I'm feeling a difference in my hair, it smells amazing which its an added bonus. The porosity of my hair was horrible, despite me not being a blonde I have coloured it so much as part of my job to keep up with the trends.
I 110% recommend this to any one who finds their ends snap easily on their hair, for anyone who want to grow their hair, that uses a lot of heat on their hair and anyone who has bleach in their hair.

I love the way this has a pump action to get the product out, pressing done the pump once gives a nice amount on your hands for shoulder length hair for longer and thicker hair 2 pumps will be enough.

This product lasts ages iv used it everyday religiously for the past 2 weeks and it doesn't look like iv even touched it.

REDKEN can be purchased from any salon stockists to find the closes REDKEN retail salon to you use their website. the product isn't cheap but you only need one/two pump/s and rub it in the palm of your hands before running through damp hair on mid length and ends..

I 110% recommend this product..
Fantastic quality, great value for money and smells Devine.

A nice day for a picnic

Summer is finally here and what can be better than hitting the beach or going on a little picnic.
I'm very lucky that we have lots of cute hot spots around near where I live for little picnic adventures.
So I have the destinations but I didn't have the picnic essentials such as a picnic basket.

I love things all vintage and I'm currently in the process of buying myself a new vintage bike so when I saw this picnic basket in the sale at debenhams reduced from £90 to £45 it just had to be mine.

I love the floral cath kidston style fabric it has as its lining

I love the plastic wine glasses, no picnic is complete without wine of course it also comes with a cork screw (what's the point in having wine if you can't open it)

The basket also supports 4 plates, 4 knifes, 4 folks and 4 spoons

Their are also a very cute and extremely small salt and pepper shakers

All the cutlery and plates are positioned in the top if the basket lid it leaves more room for packing lots of scummy food.

I'm looking forward to taking this out with the boyfriend down to Ely and sit by the river next weekend while watching the boats go past.

All I need to do now Is find some food....

What's your favourite food for a picnic??

Do any of you make your own fruit punch to take on a picnic

And where's your favourite place to have a picnic? Id love to know

A hairdressers work is never through

Wow so recently I have been super crazy busy at work, in fact it's been pretty busy outside of work to.
The hot tend of ombré has finally hit the salon nearly 3 years after it went trendsetting (yes the small town I live in is very historic and it takes a while for trends to catch on down here)

All work and no play just about sums up my life right now, if I'm not crazy at the salon in doing family at home and friends hair ready for their big nights out (something iv forgotten about due to paying for the house, bills and shopping addiction now the price of nights out has gone through the roof)

So back to ombré, my very first ombré client was the very lovely Jess, her hair was perfect for this look, below the shoulder her inspired look was alexa Chung.

So here is how I did it
Below is a pic of Alexa as you will be able to see this is not dipdyed

1, I started off gowning up my client with all the protective stuff to stop any dye or bleach getting into her clothing

2, I mixed 40ml of 5nn and 40ml of 6% (in the goldwell range) and applied it as a root tint to Jess roots.

3, I then mixed goldwell bleach with 9% (because Jess hair needed the extra lift due to her hair being so dark and over coloured)

4, using foil I picked random pieces up and applied the bleach to the mid length and ends (I decided how far up I wanted to start the bleach and worked my way down from their) the top of the hair I left out I only put the foil in where I started the blonde and wrapped the foil around that

5, I continued this process all around the head making sure I had picked up lots of hair to create to ombré look.

*with ombré their I no set line in the hair to where one colour stops and the other colour starts. The bottom is also not all one colour it's blended in. *

6, when I was happy I had covered enough of the hair in foils I left the colour to develop for 30 mins

7, 30mins later I washed the colour off using Paul Mitchell shampoo one - it's a cleanser so it helps make sure all the product is out of the hair.

8, for conditioner I used matrix repair, I tend to use this after bleach to help replenish the hair that has been bleached.

9, finally I used goldwell colour enhancer these are small little droplets that all good goldwell salons will use once your hair has been coloured they go onto wet hair and is dried in.

10, once all above is complete dry hair off using the relevant products to suit your hair and you should have a your ombré look.

Below is a pic of my lovely client Jess and below that is the pic of her inspired look on Alexa Chung you can see on Jess hair the very top is dark and the colour has been introduced in higher up than Alexa's

Colour was created myself using goldwell products at kings hair studios in bury st Edmunds.
