Pink ombré

Hi beauty's sorry its been such a long time were so mixed up with the move I'm struggling to find time but I'm back even if its just for now as soon as we have moved in and fixed up my own blogging room will be in business and you will have plenty of posts to read.

So back to this post pink ombré.

I love doing creative things on people's hair, I believe that every client is different and no one should leave my salon chair looking exactly like someone else so their for when 'G' came into the salon and mentioned she wanted ombré hair I was quick to try and encourage her to sway away from the blonde. After a long convocation it was easy to see G likes the idea of having pink hair, having done a few blonde ombré and seeing a lot of blonde ombré out in the streets at the moment the chance to try something different but still using the same technique was welcomed.

G's hair was fairly natural when I started and I wanted to keep her natural in as she has no greys theirs no point putting in another colour to start regrowth, the pink colour I used was goldwell ellumen pk@all
Pk@all only works on pre-lightened hair to show its full potential so I started by bleaching up the ends.

1. Section the hair in 4 and tie hair bands where you want the top of the ombré to start.. The hair in its band should allow to fall flat if it sticks out from the band like a high pony tail chances are the ombré is too high. Make sure all 4 bands are level with each other and apply oxyplatin goldwell bleach granules  with goldwell topchic 6% peroxide To the hair under the bands using the bands as a stopper. (Picture show below)

2. After the bleach has developed for roughly 30mins wash off with a deep conditioning shampoo and conditioner

(development time will vary from head to head you need to take into account virgin hair damaged hair and length of hair)
Now the fun part begins.
Because G wanted a baby pink we had to mix goldwell ellumen clear with the pk@all I used equal parts of both.
Ellumen needs to be added to dry hair and comes out like jelly so it has to be evenly spread all over where the bleach has just been put. (As shown in pic above when washing the colour off I removed the bands, to add to ellumen we need to put the bands back into the hair using the bleach as a guide. I moved my bands a bit higher this time with 1-2cm of natural hair under the band. This helps add in the gradual from natural to pink. Letting the ellumen process for 30-40mins..

3, once colour has developed wash off and complete with ellumen lock for 5mins and let it saturate into the hair. Finally shampoo and condition with colour care products and dry...

I love this colour and think keeping the natural hair at the top really shows off the pink beautifully.
Ombré has been a really big trend for a few years now and I love that this isn't the traditional blonde ombré look but is still in high fashion and looks stunning..

Next time you visit your stylist why don't you see how they can take the recent colour trend. mix it up and match it to suit you, your lifestyle and your personality.

Happy colouring.....

P.s ombré is not a technique i would advice for you to try yourselves with box dyes.... Yes many claim you can get that salon look at home but it fully depends on your hair type colour and condition.. Very dark hair or over coloured hair will only lift to a ginger if your lucky.. Always consult a professional prior to attempting it at home and where possible always alow a professional to carry out the service for you with salon approved products... It will mean less disasters and more beautiful healthy looking and feeling hair

Redken REVIEW!

Everyone knows how split ends can ruin a hairstyle, if you want to grow it or just have healthy looking hair we all know we need to have regular hair cuts but what about between them cuts? People forget that in order to have healthy hair we still need to treat it between appointments.
After all you wouldn't open the oven and put your hand into it without protection on you hands do why not protect your hair?

I have been fortunate enough to be sent via a supplier
REDKEN,
Extreme Anti-Snap to review.

I was very excited when I received this to review because i used to work in a REDKEN stock salon and know how lovely their products are,

Anti-Snap is a leave in treatment for distressed hair. To help reduce breakage and leave hair looking healthy, manageable and shiny.
For best results with the product REDKEN suggest you pair it with extreme shampoo and conditioner, I unfortunately don't have either so iv paired it with my current shampoo and conditioner.

To use, shampoo and condition the hair as you normally would and apply to towel dried  hair on the fragile or damaged areas and blowdry as you normally would.

Most people's damaged areas are their mid lengths and ends so avoid putting this onto your roots, like any product it will make your hair go limp and greasy.

I have been using this product for about 2 weeks now and already I'm feeling a difference in my hair, it smells amazing which its an added bonus. The porosity of my hair was horrible, despite me not being a blonde I have coloured it so much as part of my job to keep up with the trends.
I 110% recommend this to any one who finds their ends snap easily on their hair, for anyone who want to grow their hair, that uses a lot of heat on their hair and anyone who has bleach in their hair.

I love the way this has a pump action to get the product out, pressing done the pump once gives a nice amount on your hands for shoulder length hair for longer and thicker hair 2 pumps will be enough.

This product lasts ages iv used it everyday religiously for the past 2 weeks and it doesn't look like iv even touched it.

REDKEN can be purchased from any salon stockists to find the closes REDKEN retail salon to you use their website. the product isn't cheap but you only need one/two pump/s and rub it in the palm of your hands before running through damp hair on mid length and ends..

I 110% recommend this product..
Fantastic quality, great value for money and smells Devine.

A nice day for a picnic

Summer is finally here and what can be better than hitting the beach or going on a little picnic.
I'm very lucky that we have lots of cute hot spots around near where I live for little picnic adventures.
So I have the destinations but I didn't have the picnic essentials such as a picnic basket.

I love things all vintage and I'm currently in the process of buying myself a new vintage bike so when I saw this picnic basket in the sale at debenhams reduced from £90 to £45 it just had to be mine.

I love the floral cath kidston style fabric it has as its lining

I love the plastic wine glasses, no picnic is complete without wine of course it also comes with a cork screw (what's the point in having wine if you can't open it)

The basket also supports 4 plates, 4 knifes, 4 folks and 4 spoons

Their are also a very cute and extremely small salt and pepper shakers

All the cutlery and plates are positioned in the top if the basket lid it leaves more room for packing lots of scummy food.

I'm looking forward to taking this out with the boyfriend down to Ely and sit by the river next weekend while watching the boats go past.

All I need to do now Is find some food....

What's your favourite food for a picnic??

Do any of you make your own fruit punch to take on a picnic

And where's your favourite place to have a picnic? Id love to know
